I got TAGGED!!!

Okay, my friend Holly tagged me, which means I must tell all of you 6 random facts about myself. I am not the most exciting person, so hopefully my random facts won't bore you! Here's the link to Holly's blog: http://russiansweetbaby.blogspot.com/. Holly, sorry it took me so long to put my post up!!

6 Random Facts:

1) Although one of the reasons that we are adopting is because we tried and failed at conceiving a second child, Kiara was conceived very easily, if not on the first try.

2) I grew up being a magician's assistant along with my sister. My dad would do magic shows at different churches and we were always his assistants. I have the tape of my sister and I switching places from outside a locked crate to inside to prove it!!

3) Around the time Kiara turned 3, we went through a 6 month period where Kiara had fevers of unknown origin. In the end, it went away. But, it was the scariest time of my life.

4) I spent 3 weeks in Australia when I was a junior in college on a missions trip. It was wonderful to spend the month in the Australian summer while my friends back at college braved the Indiana winter.

5) I didn't loose my first grandparent until September 2007. I feel very blessed to be able to grow up knowing all my grandparents.

6) I once worked for a Fortune 500 company and quit to work for my church. It turned out to be the best job I will probably ever have.

Okay, here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.

2.Post the rules on the blog.

3. Write six random facts about yourself

4.Tag six people at the end of your post.

5. Let each person know they have been tagged.

6. Let the taggers know when your entry is up.

Getting closer...

Another family in front of us got a referral, so we are one step closer to getting our referral. For those not familiar with adoption speak, a referral means that they tell us they have a girl in mind for us and tell us when we can come and meet her. We are traveling blind, so most probably we won't get a picture or any medical information about her until we get to Moscow.

Photo book translator...

A few people have asked me how I went about translating the words for the photo book. I should have put it in my previous post and I kind of thought I did, but obviously I didn't!! I translated my words for the photo albumn by going to this website, www.translation2.paralink.com. Then, I copied the word and pasted it into Word. I couldn't believe how easy it was.

Photo book...

I have been working on a project for a little while now and I finally finished it! I want to leave a small photo book with pictures of us for our daughter between our trips. This way, hopefully, we are a little more familiar to her when we come to pick her up and bring her home forever. First, I had to find the perfect book for a 1-2 year old. Kiara has one from when she was a baby that I like made by Sassy. But, on the front of it says 'Who Loves Baby?'. Our new daughter won't exactly be a baby, so I was looking for something different. Finally, I found one made by Baby Einstein. It was perfect, it didn't say baby anywhere on it and on the outside it says 'Photos' in several different languages. I don't think Russian is on there, but I still thought it was pretty cool. I put the Russian word for each picture in with the photo, so her caretakers will know who each person is. You know I couldn't have thought of this project on my own, thanks Tamara for the great idea! So, feel free to steal the idea from me if you feel so inclined.

Mommy, Daddy

Sister, Your home

Your family

I just realized that I should probably put Kiara's name on her page. So, maybe I'm not done! :)

I SURVIVED!!!!

It was the toughest physical thing I have ever done, except maybe childbirth, and I survived!!! I went to BODYSTEP training this weekend and I am happy to say that it is over. It was a lot of fun, but my body can still feel it. I still have to make video within 3 months to officially become certified to teach, so the journey isn't over yet.

Getting ready for this training was sucessfully helping keep my mind off the adoption. Now that it is over, I seem to be anxious about it again. Pray that I can trust in God's timing. Nothing has gone wrong and my director even told me that our dossier is on its way to Russia. So, that means we are closer to receiving our referral. I am just sooooo ready for something to happen in this adoption journey.
